Born from the guts of Barcelona’s streets, BSSB embodies a homegrown philosophy where everything is made by skaters for skaters. No matter the direction skateboarding takes—whether it becomes Olympic or trendy—we remain true to our roots, we came from the streets and that`s where you`ll find us.
What makes another skateboarding brand stand out among all the others that already exist? Surely you’re thinking, ‘Not much, they’re all the same.’ Well, BS is different. Everything that comes out of our home workshop is handmade by people who live and breathe skateboarding every day. We know what we’re doing because we know what we need as skaters. There’s no gimmicks or funny business; we simply make stuff that works and deliver it directly into your hands. By keeping it between skaters, our culture will stay alive.
BS SB
BS SB was born out of the need to remind everyone of skateboarding’s roots. The initial approach to the brand was to keep it as punk and urban as possible, aiming to connect with skateboarders. This evolved into a complex concept, ultimately distilled into an iconic brand logo.
The product
Keep it simple and iconic. With the newly refreshed design, the application for decks and tees worked like a charm, opening the door for many other ideas and uses. An iconic design always helps make the brand memorable and relevant.
OG Seagull
Before BS was even a real thing, this seagull was already representing the entire attitude of the brand, and it will continue to do so until the end of time. Don’t ever forget, they eat rats!
The concept
Updating the design was a must. Evolving the punk seagull into a more refined version will make the overall concept more digestible. In the end, the goal is to reach as many people as possible. A clean design also makes it easier to apply smoothly to any medium or item.

New Seagull
The BCN seagull is special. Long before humans arrived in Barcelona, seagulls were already not taking any kind of crap from other species. Today, nothing has changed. BS adopted this emblematic, unofficial symbol in 2019, making it part of the city’s graphic memory—though it hardly needed it. You’re probably familiar with a seagull snatching a bite of whatever you were eating or perhaps remember one dealing with a couple of rats.
The concept
In addition to the graphic identity, a Barcelona skateboarding brand needs an icon to be associated with. The selected seagull ties the entire concept of the project together. Now, the challenge is to make it iconic: something simple, memorable, and most importantly, easily printable on any medium to leave a strong impression on people’s minds.
The product
Bringing this concept into reality was the result of a lot of planning and hard work. Graphic design, illustration, screen printing, sublimation, and other plastic arts techniques were the weapons of choice to build, with just a few hands, what many others have tried and failed to do. Remember, everything is homemade by a few skaters with enough knowledge to make this happen.
Humans Suck!
As part of our plan to introduce a concept that transcends the limitations of the obvious, a complementary icon was needed to highlight a critical aspect of the brand: bringing a humorous and accessible tone to very serious opinions. The idea of an apathetic alien, incredulous at the things humans do, perfectly captures the essence needed to move the concept forward.
